I was mulling over what the cast would have been if my novel Dmitry’s Gift had been turned into a ‘Carry On’. For the 8 and a half people who have read it (one person claims to, but I’m doubtful) it’ll perhaps be more thought provoking than for those who haven’t – who will be doubtless saying ‘WTF are you going on about?’

There’s a few more characters – Sasha’s Grandad (Stanley Unwin?) for example, and as his lady love, June Whitfield – but it’s a start!

Although I don’t watch ‘soap operas’ I’m aware of some of the cultural icons who have ‘graced the cobbles’ of Coronation Street. Ken Barlow as Kochansky: Reg and Curly would be Krugyin and Sharapov…….Maybe Rita as Auntie and Jack and Vera playing Tima and Dasha. Another thread to explore…..
